LENT LUNCHES

Once again this year Bearsted Area Churches Together are organising Lent Lunches, which, as is our custom, will move round the various local churches.

The talks at this year’s lunches are inspired by the book ‘The Things He Carried: A Journey to the Cross’ by Stephen Cottrell.

The programme is as follows, with all lunches starting at 12.15pm: PLEASE TRY NOT TO ARRIVE BEFORE 12 NOON.

14 March –  ‘The Cross’ at St Mary’s, Thurnham

21 March – ‘The Crown of Thorns’ at the Methodist Church

28 March – ‘The Seamless Robe’ at Holy Cross

4 April – ‘Disappointment’ at St Mary’s, Langley

11 April – ‘Our Sorrows’ at St Peter’s

All are welcome to join us as we journey together through Lent towards our Lord’s Passion and Resurrection

Bible Study Groups

We meet on Wednesday evenings to study God’s Word together, to share insights an experience, to enjoy each others’ company (and sometimes eat cake!)

Ask at church for more details.

Tea Party

Tea Party is a monthly gathering of some of our senior members of the community. They enjoy meeting together to enjoy each others company, food, raffles, music and other events. Run by Joan and her team;  if you would like further information please contact Joan [01622 202239 or joanpalmer@blueyonder.co.uk]

Links with charitable organisations

The Parish of Otham with Langley supports, financially and prayerfully, a variety of good causes both near and far.  Amongst those recently supported are  Maidstone Street Pastors, Demelza House, The Church Army,  Homeless Care (formerly Maidstone Christian Care),   the Children’s Society, Christian Aid, Kenward Trust, the Church Missionary Society and Water Aid.    Internationally we support Bishop Gilbert and his Diocese in Madagascar.
